WW1 British 1918 dated shell trench art

This is a nice condition WW1 British 1918 dated shell.
It is hard to read, but I believe it is a 6 Pounder gun shell.
Nicely dated ion the bottom with 1918.

Someone took the time to rework the shell with decorations.
Because of that, I call it trench art.
The man I got it from was a former WW2 Royal Marine Commando who was in a special taskforce unit who operated behind enemy lines in the pacific.
His father brought this shell back after the end of WW1 and probably also reworked the shell.
