WW2 British bucket hand pump

This is something you don’t see every day!
It is a WW2 British bucket hand pump.

Got this from my former father in law who was a fire fighter.
He told me that it was a bucket pump, but had no clue it was WW2.

The “copper” colour tube goes in the bucket and the black metal parts stay outside the bucket.
You could then put a foot on it to keep it in place.
The black handle is the handle for the piston.

On the side there could be attached a garden hose.
This way you had a primitive tool for fighting starting fires.
Some one needed to operate the piston and some one else had to fill the bucket with water.

These were used a lot by British civilians and ARP personal during the German bomb raids on England.

Perfect condition and nicely dated 1944.
