WW2 German SS marked mug

A very unusual item is this white porcelain giant German WW2 SS marked mug.

Got this for my collection in the early 90’s as a donation from someone who had heard that I was interested in WW2 items.
She phoned me and asked if I was interested and the only thing she told me was she had “a German mug”!
I always take the effort to go and have a look, because people who don’t collect WW2 items intend many times to claim that something is WW2, but it actually is not.

When I arrived the mug was standing on a table and my first impression was “OK, it is a big mug, but why would it be German?”
Until I turned it around and saw the markings on the bottom!!!

When I asked her how she got it, she told me that she took it from the kitchen of an old people’s home were it was in the back of a kitchen cabinet.
No one used it and it was a nice size to be used as a soup cup, so she asked if she could take it home.
When home she noticed the markings for the first time and never used it again.
She had it for about 15 years until she heard from me.

And yes, I was interested!!!!
Now it is time to find a new home for it.

I got the request to send some one additional pictures of the cup ear.
Thought I would add them to the gallery to be seen for everyone.
The ear is stable and I don’t believe the crack is complete.
I tried if there was movement in the ear and there was not any.
