WW2 U.S. early type D-ration

Everybody knows the WW2 D-ration that is packed in a waxed carton rectangular box.
This is the early war version that was also issued in K-rations.

The D-ration is packed in an extra plastic cover, because the original paper packing is damaged a bit.
This way it is prevented that insects would eat it.

The D-ration is made by Hershey.
