WW2 U.S. Garand cheek piece No.4
A very rare item.
A WW2 Garand M1 rifle cheek piece that was used for sniper purpose.
These came around the wooden but stock of the rifle to give the shooter more comfort and stability when aiming.
A friend told me ( who knows more about guns) that these were used late war.
Before the standard sniper rifle was the M-1903 Springfield rifle.
Normally these cheek pieces were not marked ( as far as I have seen them) but this one is marked with a 52 date.
Probably a re-issue date when the pieces were delivered to the new army from the USA.
Missing its lace to tie it around the stock.
Markings: marked after re-issue with “MRT 3 69”
Condition: light used / re-issued / needs some cleaning
