WW2 U.S. rifle cover

A small item that tells the beginning of D-day.
It is a U.S. WW2 dated plastic rifle cover.
They were used to protect the soldiers individual weapon against the sea water, when they went for the beaches in Normandy.
They are made of a kind of thin plastic or rubber material.
It looks black on the picture, but it is actually transparent with a dark touch.
The bag is marked with an ink stamp that reads “Cover, waterproof, rifle” and is in the same mark dated with “September, 13, 1943 Philadelphia Q.M. depot”.
Have several available and some are dated 1944.
